The story behind the journeys
What began as a personal way to document memorable places has grown into a travel blog focused on honest storytelling, thoughtful observations, and useful takeaways for fellow travelers.

Why this blog exists
Most travel content shows you the view from the hotel room. I show you the receipt.
I’m a Mumbai-based traveler who got tired of coming back from trips feeling like I’d been sold a version of a destination that didn’t exist. The curated feeds, the suspiciously perfect itineraries, the ‘budget travel’ guides that somehow still cost a fortune. None of it matched reality.
So I started documenting my own trips the way they actually happened. Every cost. Every mistake. Every moment that didn’t make it to the highlight reel.
Since then I’ve traveled to 10+ countries across Asia, Africa, and Europe. I’ve built a community of travelers who value honesty over aesthetics.

WHAT THIS PLACE IS
Travel Tales by Piyush is three things:
A travel blog — Destination guides, real trip budgets, and practical advice built from personal experience. Not aggregated from other blogs. Actually been there.
An Instagram / Youtube community — Over on @traveltalesbypiyush, I share budget travel content for explorers who want to go further without spending more.
A trip planning service — If you want someone who has actually walked those streets to build your itinerary, I do that too for a nominal cost.
03
WHY TRUST ME
I don’t work for a travel agency. I don’t get paid to send you somewhere specific. I’m not optimising for affiliate clicks over honest advice. I plan obsessively, travel on a budget, and come back with receipts. Literally.
When I tell you Vietnam can be done in under Rs. 60,000 or that Norway is expensive but worth every paisa, it’s because I’ve done both and tracked every number.

“Thanks Piyush. This was really helpful. Also scheduling a meeting with you to verify my documents really helped. I got my Norway visa approved in less than 2 weeks.”
